Summer Semester Information

Two classes held every Monday evening (Wednesday classes will resume in the fall.)

6:00-7:30pm for ongoing students or those with yoga experience

7:45-9:15pm for beginners and anyone wishing for a slower-paced, gentler yoga

Cost: 
$15 drop-in or $12.50 each for any 4 or more classes within the semester.

Come To Yoga's Fall Semester will start Wed Aug 8 (two days after Labor Day) and Mon Aug 13 (week after Labor Day) and run through Dec 20. Mark your calendar!  More details to come...or send an email for more info or to register.

Summer Semester runs through August 30

We are doing our summer “Chakra Crawl,” meaning that each week of the summer semester we will focus on opening and balancing a different chakra (energy center).

Miss a week or three? No matter, come whenever you can; there is a world of benefit to opening even one chakra.


July 19: 
The 1st Chakra at base of spine: sense of belonging, feeling safe, grounding, stability. Out of balance: on one end fearfulness, ungroundedness, on the other greed, hoarding.  
July 26: The 2nd Chakra in the pelvis: emotional and sensual movement, creativity, fluidity. Out of balance: on one end repressed emotions, fear of pleasure, on the other  end overly emotional behavior, need for constant pleasurable stimulation.
Aug 2: The Power Chakra in the solar plexus area: vitality, confidence, truth, deep laughter.  Out of balance: on one end digestive problems, low self-esteem, disempowerment, on the other perfectionism, anger, emphasis on status and power.   
Aug 9: The 4th, the Heart Chakra: wholeness, boundless love. Out of balance: on one end shyness, inability to forgive, on the other jealousy, possessiveness, high blood pressure.
Aug 16: Throat Chakra, 5th: finding your voice, expressing yourself, making yourself heard, speaking your truth.  Out of balance: on one end fear of speaking, shoulder tension, teeth grinding, on the other end excessive talking, inability to listen.
Aug 23: The 6th, the intuition Chakra located at the "third eye": ability to imagine and dream, telepathy. Out of balance: at one end headaches, difficulty concentrating, on the other poor memory, can't visualize well.
Aug 30: 7th Chakra, connection to the Divine, to the universe, awakening higher consciousness. Out of balance: at one end being overly intellectual, thinking of yourself as spiritual elite, on the other apathetic, materialistic, unable to think for yourself.

It's a fascinating journey as we open, balance and learn about each chakra.


You may be surprised at how much you can relate each chakra to things going on in your life or personality. Tongue-tied around your boss (spouse, family member), afraid to speak up for yourself? Try some fifth (throat) chakra balancers. Feel like an outsider, a loner? Try some first and seventh chakra poses. You can actually use the knowledge about chakra-balancing poses to bring balance to certain aspects of your life. Most interesting! And good yoga.
